12:30 - John Howard has given an address to right wing think tank the Institute of Public Affairs and used the opportunity to (shock, horror) underline his economic credentials and achievements.
But even the gilded facade of the Institute could not keep the real world out completely. Two women were ejected from the venue by police after shouting anti-nuclear slogans through the door.
Howard also commented on the new jobless figures saying the 4.3 per cent figure (a rise of 0.1% from the September number) was still "stunning".
